Truth in Millage Residential Or Commercial Property Records Cards (TRIM PRCs) for Real Estate Value Adjustment Appeal Available Online


Attention Petitioners/Owners of Real Estate Residential Or Commercial Property: If you request a Residential or commercial property Record Card on your Petition to the Value Adjustment Board (DR 486), the PRCs are now offered by the Residential or commercial property Appraiser's Office online via the Residential or commercial property Search. They are no longer mailed by the VAB (per FL Statute 194.032( 2 )( a)). Starting Friday, August 16th, 2024, to access your Realty PRC, bring up your residential or commercial property record via the Residential or commercial property Search, then scroll down and click on 2024 TRIM Residential Or Commercial Property Record Card (simply listed below the 2023 Notice of Proposed Residential or commercial property Taxes area). If you can not access or print the PRC, you may call the Residential or commercial property Appraiser's Office at 904-255-5900


Filing for a Homestead Exemption


File Online for a 2025 Homestead Exemption Those who own and moved into a brand-new home in Duval County after January 1, 2024, may now submit for a 2025 homestead exemption utilizing the homestead exemption online application.


To be eligible for a homestead exemption, the residential or commercial property should be your long-term home or the irreversible home of a person who is legally or naturally based on you on January 1 of the tax roll year for which you are applying. The online application will walk you through the filing process and can be sent over the web.


You may also submit by completing the manual Homestead Exemption application. The due date to file timely for the 2025 Tax Roll is March 1, 2025. Late filing is allowed through early September. Notices of Proposed Residential Or Commercial Property Taxes


The 2025 Notices of Proposed Residential or commercial property Taxes, likewise called the "Truth in Millage" (TRIM) Notices, are sent by mail to residential or commercial property owners on Friday, August 15th, 2025. Tourist Tax


1. Short-term short-term leasings should remit extra sales & use tax to the Duval County Tax Collector's Office monthly. Please e-mail TouristTax@coj.net for more details.


2. AirBNB, VRBO, and other transient-rental hosting sites DO NOT remit taxes directly to Duval County for any users.


The residential or commercial property owner MUST remit these taxes directly. Please e-mail TouristTax@coj.net for additional information.


3. E-mail TouristTax@coj.net for info relating to compulsory month-to-month tax collection and remittance for short-term transient rentals with the Duval County Tax Collector's Office.


4. Short-term rentals include individual residential or commercial property that undergoes residential or commercial property tax, understood as Tangible Personal Residential Or Commercial Property (TPP). While household goods are omitted from the definition of TPP under Florida Statute 192.001, home items are defined as furniture, devices, and other items generally discovered in the home and utilized for the convenience of the owner. However, when a home is used as a rental-whether short-term or long-term-these items are considered TPP.
