Dr Saad Al-Khalaf
Dr Saad Al-Khalaf, a highly experienced consultant general psychiatrist based in Guildford, Surrey. He also has a presence in Hampshire and London. He specialises in the treatment of persistent mental illness and older adult psychiatry. He has a particular interest in organic mental health depression, anxiety and apathy (particularly treatment-resistant depression) and memory impairment, including dementia. Dr. Jennifer Laidlaw
Jennifer Laidlaw completed her MD at the University of British Columbia (UBC) prior to completing her residency in psychiatry with the University of Toronto. During her time in Toronto she was a fervent participant in medical education. She's presented at international conferences and published on the subject of delirium screening as well as social media and professionalism. She spent the beginning of her career as the head of Consultation Liaison (CL) psychiatrist at Surrey Memorial Hospital where she concentrated on establishing a flourishing and highly collaborative CL service that provides psychiatric treatment to patients on surgical and medical wards as well as the palliative care and oncology units. She also was awarded an Facilities Engagement grant to create guidelines for the management of vulnerable patients in hospitals.
She is the Provincial Practice Leader for Psychiatry at BC Cancer, Clinical Associate Professor at UBC and Past-President of the BC Psychiatric Association. She is also an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine and an adjunct faculty participant in the UM PMR and Family Medicine residency programs. She has been interested for a long time in research and education on musculoskeletal issues. She instructs Neuromuscular Medicine and Musculoskeletal Medicine to Family Medicine Residents. She also has ongoing research projects in musculoskeletal educational, electrodiagnostic medical and performing arts-medicine.
Dr. Pulkit Singh completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales prior to finishing her Psychiatry residency at the University of British Columbia. She received the Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Psychotherapy Award during her residency to acknowledge her accomplishments in these fields. She has worked in a variety of Psychiatry areas and has a special interest in Cardiac Psychiatry.
Dr. Nadeesha is a psychiatrist who treats adults with BC Cancer. She has a keen interest in psycho-oncology and enjoys working with older patients. She has been interested for a long time in geriatric psychiatry. She has served as a consultant for the Geriatric Psychiatry Consult Liaison Service and ECT service at Vancouver General Hospital. She is also a teacher and mentor for medical students and residents.
Dr Theresa Lo
Dr Theresa Lo completed medical school and a psychiatry residency at the University of British Columbia. She has worked at the BC Cancer Agency, Surrey Mental Health and UBC Sleep Disorders Centre. She has a clinical practice that includes psychodynamic and dialectical psychology. She is proficient in Cantonese.
Dr. Karim was educated at Guy's King's St Thomas' and St George's hospitals in London and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She is a member of the Specialist Register for the General Medical Council and has been in psychiatry practice for more than 20 years. She is interested in child and adolescent psychotherapy.
Dr. Richford started her career as a nurse, and later pursued a degree in medicine, obtaining her MD from Dalhousie. She has worked in numerous Psychiatry areas which include Addiction Psychiatry as well as Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, Psycho-oncology and many more. She is a psychiatrist on staff for Providence Health Care, Vancouver General Hospital and BC Cancer-Vancouver and a Clinical Associate Professor at UBC. She was the former president of the British Columbia Psychiatric Association.
